Casa Aurelio is well situated on the side of a beautiful valley and 20 minutes walk from the middle of the nearest village Cómpeta.  It is equipped with everything one could need to stay for a week plus a very thoughtful welcome pack of basic foods.  The pool and barbecue area are kept clean and tidy and all the sun-beds, inflatables, tables and chairs are provided including an outdoor fridge for keeping a cold beer handy!

We spent a week here and combined a few days total relaxation and barbecues with:

  • visits to the caves at nearby Nerja,
  • the Alhambra palace at Granada, and
  • the water park at Torre del Mar, (near the Eroski Supermarket at Vélez Málaga)
  • ........ which is worth a visit for the fish counter alone!).
  • Cómpeta itself is a very pretty village with some excellent restaurants, an attractive town square and enough small shops for anyone seeking good food, presents or other shopping items. Parking is no problem and is free of charge and from Cómpeta you can drive or walk in cooler weather to a number of other small but picturesque villages.

We used Helle Hollis for car hire as recommended by the apartment owners and found them to be very helpful, good value and easy to book online or on the phone.

Overall we had a really enjoyable holiday and would recommend the villa to anyone wanting to spend a week in this very beautiful part of Andalucia.
